Community Involvement

Being locally owned means more than having our office here—it means these are our communities too. Our employees live here, our kids go to school here, and we love being part of the events that make our towns special.

Whether we're bringing a garbage truck to a school, celebrating a birthday with a future garbage truck driver, cheering on local youth sports teams, or tossing candy in a community parade, we're always happy to get involved.

One of our favorite things to do is visit schools and daycares. Kids are fascinated by garbage trucks (and honestly, we don't blame them!). We love giving them a chance to see the trucks up close, learn a little about recycling and waste, and meet the friendly faces behind Highland Sanitation.

Throughout the year you'll also find us supporting local fundraisers, sponsoring youth sports teams, participating in community festivals, county fairs, neighborhood events, and parades across the areas we serve. Giving back isn't something we do because we have to—it's something we've always believed in.

As a third-generation family-owned company serving our neighbors since 1950, we're proud to invest in the communities that have supported us for more than 75 years. We hope to be here for generations to come, and that starts with showing up for the people who make these communities such great places to live.
